What are the computer and internet requirements to take this training?
- DSL or broadband (cable modem, T1, T3, satellite) Internet

Do I need to have the service manuals to take the training?

Do I need a Printer to take the training, what about tools?
You need one of the printer models covered as
there will be hands on labs in the training
and a teardown section. Tools are
also require for the maintenance kit and
tear down portion. Tools may be different
from printer model to printer model. Each
training module will specify the tools
needed, however, the most common tools are:
- #2 Phillips Screwdriver
- #1 Phillips Screwdriver (for Lexmark Printers)
- Needle Nose Pliers
- Push/Pull Spring Hook
- Flash Light
- ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) kit

What if I don't have a printer--can I take the
training anyway?
You can take the training without a printer but we strongly recommend taking the training with one of the models covered. The presentations have labs that students step through, including menus and teardown. If you absolutely can’t get a printer, taking the training without one is better than not doing the training at all.

What if multiple people from our company want to take the test to receive their certificates?
Our sign up allows for one student to take the training and submit a test for their certificate of successful completion.

How long does the training take?
This length of each class varies from course to course. Click here to see the current list of courses that we offer, along with their running times.

How does the test work?
A test is also offered along with the training. Students must have a 85% or better passing grade to receive a certificate of successful completion.

What if I don't pass the test?
After completing the test, your scores will be emailed to you. If your score is less than 85%, a second test--which is different than the first--will also be emailed to you. If you receive less than a 85% score on the second test, you will be emailed a third test, which is different than the previous two tests. If you do not score 85% or higher on this test, you will not receive a certificate of successful completion for the course.

How long do I have to access the training?
Training is available for
two weeks once the login is provided. If you don’t get training completed in that time period, you can extend the training by contacting your PN account representative at (800) 886-6688.

Is there a CD-ROM version of this training?
No, this training is only available in streaming media format.

Why do I have to take the Image Formation course before taking other courses?
This course is also a prerequisite for our hands-on training and helps you better understand the basics of image formation. This knowledge will allow you to better repair printers in general.

What if I already know image formation theory--can I test out?
Yes. However, if you don’t pass the exam you will be required to take the image formation training. Please contact your PARTS NOW! account representative at (800) 886-6688 for information.

Troubleshooting
The video opens, but the slides don't appear.
If you're using a popup blocker, it will keep the slides from opening. Configure your popup blocker to allow popups when viewing the presentations. Please see below table for more information.

The video does not appear, but slides are present.
Make sure your system is using MS Windows Media Player version 9 or better.

Video pauses or jumps when playing.
Make sure you have Windows Media Player, version 9 or higher installed on your computer. Also, make sure you have a DSL or better connection to the Internet. Please see below table for more information.
